He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and is Board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. He has over 30 years of experience addressing a wide variety of infections. He is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, Texas Infectious Diseases Society, the American College of Physicians, Texas Medical Association, Bexar County Medical Society, and is an active member and Treasurer for Texas Infectious Diseases Society.

Dr. Jones received his Bachelors of Science from the University of Oklahoma in 1997, and his M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 2001. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern, and his Infectious Diseases fellowship training at the Washington University School of Medicine in Saint Louis, MO. Dr. Jones has been in practice with SAIDC since 2008. He has a special interest in the care of immunocompromised and transplant patients.

Nicolas Melgarejo, MD

Dr. Melgarejo received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (National University of Colombia) and completed a residency in Internal Medicine and a Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the Mc.Govern Medical School in Houston, TX, which included several hospitals at the Texas Medical Center, including the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center and Memorial Hermann Hospital. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. His research interests include travelers gastroenteritis, Clostridium difficile, Chagas disease and Murine typhus. He holds academic appointments as an adjunct assistant professor at UT Health San Antonio, the UIW School of Osteopathic Medicine and he also teaches residents from the Christus Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program and students from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, Mexico. He is an active member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the American College of Physicians and the Texas Infectious Diseases Society.

Robert H. Delgadillos received his Master of Science in Nursing with specialization in rural health from Eastern Kentucky University. He is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board as a Family Nurse Practitioner. He has over 15 years of experience in the nursing field including intensive care, infusion nursing, and home infusion therapy.

Annalisa Samano, AGACNP-BC
Annalisa graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio in 2013 with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. After which, she went on to work in the emergency department of major trauma centers in Corpus Christi and Houston, TX, and achieved her Certification in Emergency Nursing from the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing. She later transitioned to taking care of patients in the Intensive Care Unit. During that time, she returned to graduate school at the University of Texas at Arlington for her Masters of Science in Nursing. She completed a Nurse Practitioner program specializing in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care and is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Annalisa has been with San Antonio Infectious Diseases Consultants since 2020.

Please take strict precautions regarding your personal healthcare and the healthcare of others you may be in contact with. Below are the precautions we are taking at this time and will continue to update as necessary:

Know your symptoms: If you or a household member have flu like symptoms, cough, and or fever, please call our office so that we may help you reschedule your appointment.

Travel Update: If you have traveled outside the United States and have an appointment with our office, please notify our friendly staff so we may help you reschedule your appointment if necessary.

Our office has hand sanitizer available at entry and exit points to help stop the spread of any bacteria and we encourage all patients and patient’s family members to utilize these stations when necessary.

Our office promotes thorough hand-washing for both patients and staff members. Please feel free to ask our staff to utilize one of our hand washing areas if necessary or access one of our restroom areas.

Please sneeze or cough into the crease of your elbow. If available ask our friendly staff for a mask or tissue paper. Please dispose of any used masks or tissue paper in proper trash containers.

We have posted signs and helpful information provided by the CDC in our office and have handouts available for patients if requests.
